Was fine for the first year, but got noisier than the dishwasher during normal operation. Also, buy a bag of ice if your having a party. Are used to be a loyal LG buyer of appliances. But this purchase has me second-guessing that.

3 yrs old - compressor replaced, now more issues

We purchased this model in September 2017 and it is not even three years old. It worked fine up until about three months ago and then both refrigerator and freezer failed. We contacted LG customer service thinking they would quickly get a warranty repair authorized but NO - they took 18 days to try to find one (we live near Buffalo NY) and told us there wasn't a service provider in our service district and they wound try to find one to come from outside our service district. I called a local repair place, they contacted LG and finally got a letter of authorization and did the repair. We were without a refrigerator/freezer for 18 days and lost all our food and had to use coolers which was ridiculous and so inconvenient it was like living in a tent. Now, as I type this, I have a broken water dispenser - I called the local shop and they tell me I have to fight it out with LG again as they can't do anything until LG contact them with a letter of authorization and then they have to ship the parts, etc. In short, where I live, in Western NY in a county with 1.3 million people and the second largest city in the State of NY (Buffalo) and LG has no service network. I called several appliance repair companies and they all said the same thing - we can't service LG and because of their poor service network we don't recommend them.

Compressor Fails Multiple Times

We purchased this unit in June 2016. By November 2018, the compressor had failed and we lost an entire freezer and fridge worth of food and medicine. LG replaced the compressor. Here we are, 20 months later and the compress has failed AGAIN!!! This is nuts. I was not a cheap purchase. We expected soooo much more from LG.

Complete garbage

I bought this refrigerator in June 2015 and it's been nothing but problems. (The only reason I purchased it in the first place was because the space in the kitchen in my new home had very limited dimensions.) Within two years I had to replace the entire refrigerator fan / compressor section due to frost build up that killed the functionality of the fan and lead to the dreaded E rF error. Things went well for a couple of years until about three months ago when you could hear the fan struggling with frost build up. I followed all the online instructions to try to melt it -- and it worked well enough for a time -- but there were always periods where you could hear it straining again. Which brings us to last night: E rF error on the display. LG's own website will tell you this pertains to the fan being busted. I called the retailer I bought it from, hoping maybe I could sneak in a repair under warranty. They tell me the warranty has actually been extended, which is great. I call to schedule an appointment with their in-house repair department only to discover this wouldn't be covered. So I call LG thinking maybe the 107 one-star reviews posted here will help them see their way to offering some sort of discounted repair or help to have the issue resolved. Spoke with Matty and explained my long, frustrating tale with this LG appliance and received the oh-so-helpful suggestion that I simply let the unit defrost and plug it back in. I reply that probably won't be a long-term fix at this point given how much stress the fan has been under / that it will probably break down again, to which I'm told that since there was never a recall issued, it's technically not defective and so I would be responsible for any and all repair costs. I've seen responses from representatives of LG posted here so I'll go on record now as saying I would love to get one because I find this whole situation maddening.

After 5 years have to replace

We bought this unit and after 5 years we have a freon leak and compressor went. No warranty and basically have to buy a new refrigerator. I will NEVER BUY any LG Product again.
