I am so impressed by my new built-in. Love the black stainless steel cover because it doesn't show hand prints like standard stainless. Has great storage. But the best thing was the price because I got it on sale and it saved me $4000 over any other built in models and brands. I'm thrilled to have saved that money which allowed me to purchase new replacement appliances for the rest of my kitchen all from KitchenAid: Dishwasher, gas cooktop range, double wall ovens and built in microwave.

What everyone wants to know is what are the flaws so I will start with that. There is only really one, the ice machine. It will only put out 38 cubes per day. After 4 days of ownership and 3/4 bucket of ice I contacted Whirlpool to find out it is not a voluminous ice producer. The number posted is what I was told from the representative. Unlike the General Elec cheap refrigerator I had in my rental which would fill a larger bucket every 24 hrs. This is just your basic refrigerator with an ice maker in the drawer. Since the refrigerator truly has only two functions, make ice and keep things cool and 50% of that is below par for a machine of this Price. a Fair rating was given. If a machine just does what it is supposed to than it is average. Exceptional means it does much, much more. Companies should strive for a better product and not just meeting the expectation and expecting an excellent rating. There is a lot of wasted space if one really looks around the drawers and see that another cubic foot or so of space is just not usable with the design of the drawers.. They do not go all the way to the back. there is waste on the sides...here is a great place if you want to really be innovative … recessed tracks and show the consumer that you really get every inch of space with drawers like you get with shelves. The Good: Very Quiet. (This you would expect for a machine of this price) If you plan to have an open floor concept home where the kitchen is part of the main living space … this is the refrigerator for you...you will not have to increase the volume of the TV, every time the compressor kicks on. Even coolness - Again a basic expectation the width and the depth make it very easy to use. Unlike a standard refrigerator you are always digging to the back... This refrigerator you will have everything right in front of you.
