While my model is older, I suspect the results to be the same. The insulation of the ice maker is not enough or the location leads to it not making ice as a solid block forms inside of it. When the top of the fridge did work, I had to melt the ice maker 2 or 3 times before I finally just turned it off. Then the top stopped cooling and would not get below 57 degrees. Due to the refrigerator being out of warranty, I am responsible for the cost of servicing. I find this ridiculous as this issue has affected a lot of customers. With Samsung being one of the most profitable companies in the world, you would think that they could treat their customers a bit better and stand by their product.

We've loved this fridge for 2.5 years; had our kitchen modified to fit it specifically. It looks great, fits lots of items and the area that can either be fridge or freezer is a very nice touch. However, for such an expensive design I am massively disappointed in the quality of the shelving components. Within 6 months one door shelf had cracked down the front. Then another and just today one split in half. Now I've owned Samsung fridges before and a few others and I've seen where abuse can cause damage but just opening closing the doors should not cause this in under 3 years. They have either used the wrong plastic for these door shelves or the QC is poor. I would not recommend it based on that failure point, unfortunately, as otherwise it is the best fridge I have seen on the market.

I have seen other reviews of problems with ice/water feature. We connected ours using Teflon tape and we don't have any leaks, the ice is great, the water delicious. I especially like the oversized area - I can fill a 1 gallon pitcher with ice and water quite easily. I enjoy the versatility of the bottom right compartment that allows me to choose between using it as a refrigerator or freezer. The storage features are also wonderful and allow me to organize the food items much more easily as well as reducing the problem of having some items buried. The design is sleek and clean. I love the built in handles (don't stick out). The chef pans are VERY handy. The chef pantry - also handy. The tilt out door shelves are a great feature. I also love the feature that allows the drawers to finish closing when you push on them to close (so they don't bounce back open).
