Stops working FFFH17F2QW

I brought this unit 7/23/16. Do not remember the first time it stopped running. We thought maybe we turned the thermostat down by accident. On 10/14/19 it stopped working again. And for the second time after we got back home the whole garage was smelling very bad with water on the concrete. Wife turn the thermostat up and down and it never turned on. When I got home, she tried it again and after a few time of turning the thermostat up and down the freezer came back on. We have thrown away a lot of meat and vegetables. We only replace our older freezer ( and it wasn't a frigidaire) because it was old and we was scared one day we would come home to find it not working. We had that freezer for about 8 to 10 years with no issues. We buy a new one and now we have already had the same problem twice. I would like to fix it. Sounds like the thermostat is going out (sticking). I'm trying to find part now. If I can not fix it then I will replace it with a different brand.

went from a 20 Cu. Ft. to a 16.6

I compared several upright freezer makes, models, features, and pricing in this capacity range and selected the Frigidaire. IÕve had this freezer for about three weeks and am very happy with it.

So far GREAT!

I purchased this freezer to replace a Maytag freezer that died just after 3 years of service. So far I am very pleased with this new freezer. It holds the temperature well, has a tight seal on the door and very spacious.

Good product and good deal.

My old garage freezer made in 1990 recently died. I looked on line for the highest rated freezers, this one landed in the top five of most of the review sites. I found a good deal at Home Depot. Ordered it had a quick delivery. Set up was pretty easy ( done by the delivery guys). Had to adjust the adjustment feet to make it level. Looks good, lots of room for frozen products, keeps everything frozen and I love the functioning light installed at the bottom to let us know with a glance that its working. 2 concerns. 1) I couldn't find how to adjust the settings in any of the material that came with the freezer ( there is a knob with 1-10 ( I think) on the inside that was set on 4 when installed. I set it to 5 because that was in the middle but didn't know if it would make it colder or less cold. 2) It seems to hum a lot. I'm paranoid so I keep thinking that it's working too hard. Not sure though. that may be just the way it sounds when working normally and it's OK because it's in my garage. Just worried that it may be working to hard and burn up the condenser or some other mechanical part. As I said previously, looks good, lots of room inside and keeps everything frozen.
