This gas range is what the contractor put in the house, it was a flip...we had no choice in the matter, he would not replace/exchange for different bran. The burner grates and center griddle are horrible. They have an extremely ruff texture and will scratch and ruin the bottom of your pots. The center griddle for all intents and purposes, is useless...It's teflon-coated aluminum and is ruff like the the burner grates. I attempted to season and burn it in first. As a test I tried to grill a small 8oz sirloin steak along with a boneless chicken breast, as I had anticipated, a total mess. A properly seasoned/burnt-in stainless griddle is wonderful to cook on. About the only thing this range has going for it is looks...that's it. If this is the best GE can do, then back up five yards, punt and get out of the gas range business....My wife and I have always cooked with gas and have purchased many gas ranges over the coarse of our 48 years together. This by far is the worst range we have ever had, again, We had no choice with this and for the record, we have never owned a GE appliance of any kind and certainly never will in the future.

What I love most is the grate on the top. I can just slide heavy cookware across without having to lift. The flat surface in the middle is great for grilling veggies. And the oven takes no time to heat up. Also, the steam self cleaning oven is thorough.
