I have had the Stainless Steel version of this cooktop for 18 months. The cooktop works just fine, and we eventually figured out how to clean it (a certain soap, then wipe clean with a microfiber cloth). We're giving our cooktop just 2 stars because the black paint on the metal grate chips/peels off, making the cooktop look terrible. I called KA, and they told me that since it was a cosmetic issue, I would have to pay about $81 for a replacement part. Buying a new replacement part every 18 months is not sustainable. I had purchased a 5 year warranty from a local appliance dealer, hoping they would replace the part, but no luck there either. This has been disappointing, and after owning KA appliances for over 20 years, I feel abandoned. I bought 4 new appliances 18 months ago during a kitchen remodel, and it became clear to me that manufacturers now think of appliances as lasting about 8 years. In the past I have bought KA appliances because I want something that will last and be supported by a good company. Sadly, this is no longer true.
Quick to heat and easy to clean
